Dr. Oz You Being Beautiful BookYesterday, Oprah had Dr. Oz on her show... This time Dr. Oz presented the lastest science on looking and feeling beautiful.  Dr. Oz and his partner Dr. Michael Roizen have just released a brand new book titled:  YOU: Being Beautiful: The Owners Manual to Inner and Outer Beauty."  This is the lastest book in their "YOU" series.  Tackling this complex topic, the Dr.s' sought out the world's foremost experts on the subject of beauty.  Dr. Oz explains that true beauty is about being healthy both inside and out.  With inner beauty being the main focus.

Joining Dr. Oz on the show was Dr. Susan Evans, a Dermatologist who brought along a state-of-the-art machine that predicts how our skin will age.  Also, on the show was Paula Begoun, co-author of the book "Don't go to the Cosmetics Counter without me" with her skin care product recommendations.  Dr. Oz covered many topics on the show ranging from adult acne to cellulite.  Dr. Oz explained that a good indication of our inner health shows up in our hair, skin, and nails.  If you're noticing changes on the outside, such as major hair loss, chronic bad breath, etc. chances are something's not up to par health-wise on the inside.

Dr. Oz went on to explain the importance of using a good sunscreen SPF 15 or higher to protect your skin and also that there are three other things you need for beautiful skin. First, it's vital that you're getting enough anti aging Vitamins A, C, and E through a healthy diet and also in your nutrient rich skin care products.  A, C, and E are powerful antioxidants that fight off free radicals.  Vitamin A (also known as Retinol) is especially important as we age for healthy skin!  Vitamin A rejuvenates the skin by stimulating cells to produce more collagen and elastin.  Another important nutrient for beautiful skin is niacin, which slows the formation of melanin and prevents it from rising to the top of the skin in the form of age spots.  The third part of a healthy skin care routine is exfoliation.  Sun damage and spots get stuck in the skin, so when you exfoliate, it removes the old dead skin cells revealing younger, more youthful skin.

I have to admit, I am a huge fan of Dr. Oz!  His knowledge of the workings of the human body is absolutely mind boggling!  Dr. Oz has a way of explaining health issues in layman terms that are straight to the point, without being too scientific or technical, and definitely entertaining!

In Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen's new book "YOU: Being Beautiful," the Dr.'s break through the myths and stereotypes about how we view ourselves and how we define beauty.  The Dr.s' take a look at the three levels of beauty - Looking Beautiful, Feeling Beautiful, and Being Beautiful, and explain how the levels work together to help you discover your true, authentic self.  The Dr.s' clarify what beauty really is, and give you the tools to become healthier and happier - Which is what beauty really is all about!
